Reference video
Starting position
Standing on both feet, feet together or hip-width apart, rope behind.
Correct technique
The rope passes under the feet exactly twice per jump. Landing on both feet. The attempt lasts two minutes.
Required range of motion
Two full rope turns during a single jump.
What counts
A repetition counts with two full turns in one jump and a landing on both feet.
What does not count
Not counted: single jumps, landing on one foot, a tangled rope, and jumps after the end signal. Pauses between sets are allowed, but the clock keeps running.
Filming requirements
The athlete stays fully visible from head to feet for the whole attempt. One continuous take, no cuts or editing. The camera does not move. A timer must be visible in frame, or the start and end signals audible.
Common mistakes
Single jumps to recover
Single jumps between doubles are not counted, and the clock keeps running.
Starting too fast
Over two minutes an even pace matters, otherwise the second minute collapses.
